My experience buying through Jayman involved alot of ups and downs.Before my turnover date, there was miscommunication and language-barriers in the finance department that lead to difficulty getting a mortgage, misunderstandings and assumptions being made around purchasing details in the Sales department after verbal commitments were made, and a combination of other issues I didn't expect that I would encounter.At my turnover date (or shortly after), in the year following, I had issues with water leaks, frost, hvac ducts and structural issues, A/C problems, problems with appliances, problems with glass in the doors, problems with trades damaging counter-tops, flooring issues, electrical, garage doors, showers not working, etc. I ran into such a significant amount of issues purchasing this home that I can't even remember them all.However, James and Patty (as well as the rest of the team) over the past year has been nothing short of exceptional. The communication from their team was consistent and proactive, making me feel supported and informed every step of the way. Whenever I had a concern, Patty/James were incredibly accountable, addressing and resolving issues with an impressive sense of urgency and thoroughness. I could send an email late in the evening one night, and the next day they're pounding on the door wanting to see the issue.I credit James and Patty for being a significant reason why this experience was positive one. I would wholeheartedly recommend this team to anyone. This positive experience has solidified my confidence in Jayman as a builder to always make things right.

I believe Jayman offers some of the more well-regarded homes in Edmonton. Our residence was presented in a clean and visually appealing manner, with the observable features appearing well-executed. However, several issues have emerged that call into question the overall quality of the workmanship.Within the first week of occupancy—specifically on the evening of June 4—we identified a water leak in the kitchen area, which originated from the wall adjacent to the main floor bathroom. Following this discovery, I contacted Jayman’s emergency hotline and left a voicemail. A representative returned my call the next morning. I also reached out to the Habberjam emergency line and would like to express my sincere appreciation for their team’s prompt and professional response in addressing and repairing the damaged pipe.Upon further investigation, it became evident that the leak resulted from a nail puncturing a pipe, likely during the baseboard installation. This damage is clearly visible near the kitchen vent, which I removed in an effort to trace the source. Given that we had only recently taken possession of the home, encountering such a critical issue so early is understandably troubling. The resulting water damage raises concerns about the integrity of the broader plumbing system and whether additional vulnerabilities may exist.A separate concern pertains to the steps leading to the front entrance, which have yet to be installed. Although the concrete walk connector was poured over a week ago, the surrounding forms and caution tape remain in place. This presents a significant safety hazard—particularly during inclement weather—as access to the back door is severely hindered by muddy conditions. A temporary walking pad would have greatly alleviated this issue, as we have repeatedly encountered difficulties entering the home during periods of rain.Additionally, the quality of the concrete work on both the driveway and walk connector appears substandard. The rebars were laid directly on the ground without the use of rebar chairs, thereby compromising the required coverage. The gravel substrate beneath these areas was not adequately compacted—no water was applied during the process—and in some instances, workers simply tamped it down manually, without leveling the surface properly. These execution flaws suggest a lack of attention to detail and raise serious concerns about long-term durability.I remain appreciative of the efforts of both the sales and construction teams during the pre-possession and possession phases. However, it is apparent that a number of post-possession activities were poorly coordinated, leading to issues that could have otherwise been avoided through more rigorous quality control and oversight.

I am very happy with my home. There are some things that I'm sure will get fixed with the 2 month appointment. I had quite a few issues with the process of buying the house and some very big miscommunication. This miscommunication with the sales representative made the final month or so very stressful for me, and I didn't get everything I believed I had when I signed my contract to purchase. I was going to buy the Showhome (Sawyer) however didn't want to have to wait for an unknown amount of time. I was told they could build this Saywer like the Showhome. I (and my realtor) were very clear that I wanted everything to be EXACTLY like the showhome. I was told the changes on the contract to purchase were the additions that would be needed to make my house exactly like the showhome. So I signed and initialed next to each of them. The things I noticed during my walk through- the sconces in the bar downstairs were not wired. I pointed it out and was then told this wasn't added. (They ended up putting them in- thank you!). The tiles in the kitchen are smaller than the ones in the showhome, and the kitchen faucet is different as well. The faucet in the bar downstairs is stainless steel and it was suppose to be gold. The Showhome would have come with air conditioning, my house didn't. I thought it was included as my house was to be exactly like the showhome, and I was assured it would be. Even the washer and dryer, when I went for my final walk through they weren't here and all the other appliances were. When I asked they said they weren't included. I went back to the sales rep, and then she found it, and had them installed for when I moved in. I spent my final week before move in shopping for a washer and dryer because I didn't have an answer. I didn't even bring up the A/C because I was so upset about it not being finished how I had expected. The beams in the living room I paid $6500 are not finished professionally. I pointed it out before my walk through, and the bottom piece was replaced, but when you look at the from the side they look like scrap wood was put together. They don't sit flush with each other and are clearly all different sizes of wood put together. The Showhome beams are done in a much higher quality finish, and everyone that has been in my house has commented on the poor craftsmanship of them. The utility room is also different than the showhome. The HRV unit is in a different place, with PVC piping running across the room. I was planning on using this space for my gym, and cannot do that with where the HRV was placed. In summary, I feel like like I was mislead in what I was signing in the purchase contract. I was told what I was signing were the changes and costs to make my home exactly like the Showhome. My house is not exactly like the showhome. I was not privy to what was standard in a Sawyer build, and what the upgrades were, but was told the listed items were the changes needed to make the houses the same. I do love my home, I genuinely feel like it is home for me. The purchase process was quite stressful. I think also because the Sales Rep was brand new when I was looking to buy and maybe didn't know the whole product yet. She did correct some of the things, but I don't even know what to do about the rest.Jeremy and Tavis have been great. I am available to discuss this more.I am still happy I bought this house and I am sure the house will live up to the Jayman name. Again I do love my house, but there are things that need to be addressed.

Because my customer experience was great. Before dealing with Jayman, we had visited other builders. Our experience with Jayman was just different. We were well received. Heather and Kelsey had answers to all our questions. When we asked questions, even the ones that required numbers, they almost always had the answers right away. Both Heather and Kelsey even remembered our names (mine, my wifes’ and our baby) the second time we visited (without an appointment). It shows how interested and how much they value people!

We wish Jayman Built was more flexible with customization especially when building a home over the $1M price point. We never understood why there was such a barrier to making changes to aspects of the plan and very limited opportunity for review and changes (We felt we were too often left in a take it or leave it scenario).

I will suggest that updates regarding the house indicates pictorial updates. We got pictorial updates but it was the same picture of the exterior even when interiors were been worked on. We would love to see both the exterior and interior progress

Construction managers were all very nice and helpful. I appreciate their responsiveness to my concerns especially Pablo (hopefully remembered his name correctly). Speaking about Jenn and Sarah - I've had no concerns. They are thorough, willing to help, explain everything to the last detail and really show up for their customers. If there was ever something we didn't understand or a blip during the process that needed to be fixed, the girls showed up for us.
